Why Cut Paths?

The Problem

The current internet makes Narge content trivially accessible. A single typo, search result, or link can expose anyone—including children using family devices—to content from the Narge class.

This is not about prohibition. It's about routing. The internet can work differently.

What a Cut Path Does

A cut path is a DNS resolver that does not resolve the Narge content class. It makes Narge harder to reach—not impossible, just not the default.

• Sites identified as Narge-purpose return no address (NXDOMAIN)
• Everything else resolves normally
• No accounts, no filtering dashboard, no "family settings"
• This is a technical class, not a moral judgment system

Why This Approach

Narrow and Technical

Narge is a defined content class. See the specification for the full definition. It is not "objectionable content" or "adult material." The definition is narrow by design.

Host-Level Intent

The classification looks at a site's purpose, not individual pictures. The specdefines what is and is not Narge based on purpose.

Open and Verifiable

The specification, block list source, and resolver configuration are all public. You can read exactly what is happening. No company stamp, no secret rules.

Not a Complete Filter

This is not a kids-safety product, an addiction treatment, or a house filter. If you need those, use a complete filtering solution. A cut path addresses one narrow class.

Not Government, Not a Brand

This is not a law. It's not a government program. It's not a certification or trust seal. It's infrastructure anyone can run.

The goal: make it normal for ISPs and carriers to offer a cut path option. Show demand with usage numbers. Let users choose their own routing.
